The BioKymppi Oy biogas plant is located in Kitee, Finland, and it processes different types of biodegradable wastes and energy plants. By anaerobically digesting organic substrates the plant produces biogas from which the methane is further processed to electricity and heat. The digestate is utilized as different types of fertilizer products.
Doranova delivered in the year 2010 for the BioKymppi biogas plant a 2 x 160 kWh CHP-plant which produces electricity and heath to both the plant’s needs and for selling. We designed and executed also a biogas pumping station which takes care of the pumping of the gas produced by the biogas plant but also the gas originating from the adjacent landfill. In the year 2013, we continued the project by delivering a 160 kW CHP-plant for the nearby power plant.
It is a Doranova principle to take care of the customers throughout the life cycle of the plant operation; thus, we naturally take care of regular service and maintenance with regard to delivered equipment. The anaerobic digestion process of the plant was designed and delivered by Doranova’s German partner Weltec BioPower GmbH.
